Curator Lisette Smits talks about her exhibition projects in relation to the times in which they were produced.

Lisette Smits
is a curator, editor and teacher based in the Netherlands.
Her curatorial practice since 1997 has been informed by the investigation of new forms of art (and design) in a changing economical, technological and social environment. She was artistic director of Casco, Office for Art, Design and Theory, Utrecht from 1996 until 2005. She co-founded the magazine Casco Issues and was its chief editor until issue 9. From 2009 until 2013 she was associate curator at Marres, Maastricht. She has lectured at various institutions and currently is a tutor at the Gerrit Rietveld Academy and De Appel Curatorial Program, both in Amsterdam. Her editorial work includes the artist monographs Barbara Visser and Chris Evans. Next to this she currently is course director of the Werkplaats Typografie, Master of Graphic Design, in Arnhem
