Kungl. Konsthögskolan / The Royal Institute of Art has employed the artist Sophie Tottie as a professor of fine art with a specialization in the field of painting / drawing.

Kungl. Konsthögskolan received forty two applications to the post, and eight of the applicants were invited to give a lecture and an interview. The Academic Appointments Board worked together with three external experts: Ann Böttcher, Olav Christopher Jenssen and Iris Müller Westermann.
Sophie Tottie is currently working in her studio, and is also showing her works in the exhibition White Lines at Malmö konstmuseum (November 25, 2011–February 5, 2012). In connection to the exhibition will a book published with reproductions of the new works along with conversation with Hal Foster regarding her new directions and concerns. Sophie Tottie has participated in the exhibition On Line at MoMA, New York (November 2010–February 2011) and been teaching at VES (Visual and Environmental Studies at Harvard University). During the years 2001–2009 was Sophie Tottie professor of fine art at Malmö konsthögskola, Lunds universitet.
